Something Special…

As I opened the box, my heart filled with glee. My father had just given me a necklace for my 14th birthday. As I looked around with excitement I could see the restaurant half-filled with people. I was sharing this magnificent moment with my dad, sister, and brother. We were all eating at a familiar place, Marcello’s Father and Son. High schools in New York that have higher percentages of poor African-American and Hispanic students have been receiving the lowest marks, according to the New York Times. I came up with a list of things that can improve yourself. These are helpful tips to empower young women to love themselves and others too.

  • Find your ultimate style — what makes you unique
  • Wear the clothes that transform your body into a goddess — clothes that make you feel good about yourself
  • You should embrace your features. If you have short hair, take advantage of all the cool hairstyles you can do
  • You should be confident in your own skin and not feel ashamed for how you look
  • Keep positive energy around you. It can help make you feel better about yourself
  • If you love yourself, then others will love you too

Plastic Surgeries Gone Wrong on the Tyra Show

Previously on Tyra this month, the topic was on black market plastic surgery. I found this topic very interesting because I was unaware of how many people do this. Black market plastic surgery is when doctors without a license perform surgery on people.
