Aisha

Aisha is an open minded creative teen. She is very energetic and loves toddlers. She is a 15-year-old in the 10^th grade.

Aisha loves to make people laugh. During her free time she loves to braid hair and babysit toddlers. Aisha also enjoys watching Family Guy, One on One, The Game and the Cleveland Show. When she gets older she wants to become a corporate lawyer.

Robyn

Robyn is 17 years old. She grew up on the South Side of Chicago. She is hilarious and loves to make people laugh.

She loves to hang out with friends and have fun. She is very competitive and she loves basketball. She’s a big fan of the Chicago Bulls, but her favorite basketball player Dwyane Wade. When she grows up, she plans to become a Spanish teacher.

Jasmine

Jasmine, 14, is currently a freshman. She grew up near Washington Park, where some of the big events in Chicago took place. Her neighborhood tells a bunch about her character. Many people may think that because of her neighborhood that she may not get far in life, but because of how determined and stubborn she is, her goal in life is to basically prove them wrong. She loves cheerleading and laughs at any and everything (not in the annoying type of way).

Humu

Humu is a student who realized at the age of 13 she was interested in helping people. Humu participates in many activities in and outside of school, such as sports, book clubs and tutoring students. She says her experiences are a benediction to her life and her career. Before graduating to high school, Humu had been an helper to her teachers. Humu sees her future as a doctor, owning two houses downtown and two of the finest cars of 2016. She dreams to marry the man of her dreams and to live a great life.

Toro

Born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, Adetoro came into this country for a better future. Adetoro, whose name means anown of settlement, is the epitome of a strong African teenager striving to survive through everyday life. She is involved in extra-curricular activities both inside and outside of school. She enjoys watching basketball games, dancing, singing, listening to music and hanging out with friends. She aspires to become a pharmacist in the near future and to help develop a cure for AIDS or cancer. She hope to attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-campaign to further her studies.

Ashley

Ashley was born in St. Louis, but after ten years her family decided to move to Chicago.  Ashley has an ancestral background of visual and performing arts, starting a music group with her friends in 2005. Determined to become the next “Teen Pop Sensation,” the teen trio became known as “Dymondsoulz.”  They were offered a deal with former Destiny’s Child Producer, Donovan Knowles.  As the school year came around, Ashley as well as her group members had to choose between school and or working in the music industry. Ashley is now a senior with a 3.5 G.P.A. and wishes to further her studies in teaching and psychology.  She still enjoys music, reading, writing and helping others.

Ebony

Ebony is a smart individual who has a lot of potential. She is 17 years old. Born and raised on the West Side of Chicago, she comes from a family of four. Most of her life she has dreamed of being a psychologist. She’s very humble and tries to be patient with everything that happens in life. After her years of high school, Ebony plans to attend Urbana University to study psychology. She hopes to complete college and becomes an entrepreneur. She hopes to have a family, make her own money, drive her own cars, live in her own house and continue to be her own person.

Fess

Fess was born in Chicago. He is 15 years old. He spent half his life in Mississippi. Trying to avoid trouble, he learned to stay out of trouble by joining MSA. He plays basketball, football, flag football and baseball. He likes to hang out with his friends, go shopping, and go to parties. His goal in life is to own his own business.

Armani

Armani was brought up on the South Side of Chicago, often called a death trap. She was introduced to gangs and violence at a very young age. Despite this, Armani discovered her talent for skating, cooking and styling hair.

She experienced a lot of things early in her life. Good and bad. She is now a freshman in high school. She is hoping to become an ultrasound technician one day. She’s pretty sure this isn’t the last time you hear from her.

Jalisa

Jalisa is a high school senior in Chicago. Her goal for the near future is to become an architect and extend her education. She is really proud of becoming a high school graduate in June of 2010.

As a child, she enjoyed going to summer and winter camps with her friends. She has been a Girl Scout member since she was 10 years old. The times spent at camp with her fiends were the most memorable moments in her life.

Jalisa’s hobbies are hanging with her friends, roller-skating, and watching scary and comical movies. She likes to cook desserts and pasta dishes. Also, she enjoys going to high school football games with her closest friends.

Brandi

Brandi is a 15-year-old girl who grew up on the South Side of Chicago. She is very crazy and is always laughing and smiling. She is always at parties or hanging out with friends. She is very athletic and competitive. When she grows up she wants to be a lawyer, WNBA player, or a doctor. During her free time, she likes listening to the radio, playing basketball, or watching T.V. Her favorite T.V. shows are The Game and Spongebob. Her favorite movies are Shrek, Love & Basketball, and Space Jam.

Dayshia

Dayshia  is a native of Chicago, Illinois. After she completes high school, she wants to study law at Howard University, and then become a lawyer. She likes reading, shopping, and having fun.

She has lived on the West Side most of her life. Every since she was a little girl, she knew she wanted to be successful in what ever she wanted to do. First she wanted to be a fashion designer, because she enjoyed sewing and the creative things you can do with a sewing machine. Throughout her life she discovered her interest is law. She wants to be a defense attorney. She also wants to own her own law firm after she becomes a lawyer.
